My Reaction to the GoT 3rd Teaser

After an agonising wait, I finally got to see the latest Game of Thrones trailer. That wait was further prolonged as the video posted on the HBO official website refused to run smoothly on my girlfriend's laptop, but now with the video posted on youtube by various helpful folks it's running as God intended.

Here it Comes!

I'm still waiting for my girlfriend to get home from work so we can watch this together (I'm under strict orders on this one, she'll be very upset if I break and view it before she gets home) but I thought I'd share my excitement on here! A brand new teaser trailer for HBO's new adaptation of grim fantasy epic 'A Game of Thrones' (mentioned in one of my first posts on blogspot) aired last night in America, prior to the finale of 'Boardwalk Empire'.

Not Even a Sporting Chance

So there will no longer be a national P.E. scheme. The Education Secretary Michael Gove has announced that the £162m budget for school sports will no longer be set aside, instead allowing school headteachers to decide how best to spend on P.E. Basically, it's screwed.

An Update on Work, Money...and Loafing

It's been a little quiet here on my end. Mainly because the last few weeks have consisted of the same activities - working and loafing.

Too Little, Too Late

You can't help but flinch when reading today's headlines, no matter what walk of life you're from or what paper you happen to read. It was the day everyone was dreading. The Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne promised cuts and boy did he give them.

Pleasantly Surprised, Rant Averted

Today I was going to go into the subject of unemployment, one that always manages to get my hackles up. I've been unemployed twice since I gained my degree in 2008 - once for a spell of 5 months before my old employer Tesco finally took pity on me and offered me my old part-time job back, and again presently as I moved to Bourne after arriving back in the country.

I was dreading that I'd be stuck without any hope of work for as long as I was back in 2008, which I'm sure anyone who has been in a similar situation in the past

No Questions Asked

A small white parakeet flies over the heads of the hundreds of visitors at the Stafford County Showground. A small boy is in hot pursuit, trying to grab the bird whenever it drops within reach of his grasping hands. The bird has no idea where's it going, or what it'll do when it gets there - it's free, that's all that matters. It could be a cockatiel, maybe a budgie, it's moving too fast to see. What was certain to all onlookers was that the massive -thud- of the small bird flying straight into a window must've bloody hurt. A chorus of onlookers cries in dismay at the sound, like spectators watching a horrifically bad tackle at a football match. The parakeet flaps down

Reasons to Turn On the Television at Last?

From my teens onwards, I've never been a big television person. It's not hard to see why.

Something about getting a numb arse, watching shows that have already given away the key scenes in their 'Coming Up!' segments just before another agonising commercial break hits, doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. I'd much rather read a good book, as I can choose my own breaks and I don't have to read the ending before I've even started.

What's more, it seems to me that

Time for a Fool

Hello, I'm Jimmy. I've just returned to England from a round-the-world trip. I'm 23 and currently unemployed, seeking work of any kind. I'm into music, books, hiking, nature and art. Here I am ruining a beautiful view in Himeji, Japan:

Nice hat, jackass!

Why am I here?
